My Great Grandmother,
Sadie Ellen Dixon
Always On My Mind
Time goes by so fast,

I wonder where it all went?

I try to figure it out,

this time and where it was spent.

I never knew what old age was.

Just run, play, and have fun.

Being sick, old, and near the end.

To lose the life of a loved one?

Of course now I know the truth.

In this world we all leave our mark.

We all hope to go to Heaven

where they play those beautiful harps.

I never wanted to be

old and wrinkled like you.

You passed away when i was eight.

Now, I look in the mirror

and I see what is marked upon lifes slate.

Old age will without a doubt come.

My life has been good

throughout it all.

I am happy and I see I

look so much like you.

We will know each other

in my final call.

Life is wondeful and grand.

But I want you surely to know.

I think of you often.

I still love you from ever so long ago!
