I Feel So Grateful To Be Alive
The warm sun of the day
rises up high.
The fluffiest clouds
fill the deep blue sky.

Little birds chirp
way up in the trees.
Momma brings  home worms
for her family.

On a clump of flowers
a butterfly rests.
He is tired from his journey,
his stillness suggests.

There in the distance
a furry brown rabbit sits.
She hops with her children,
out in the world on their first trip.

A dragonfly zooms
up over my head.
He soars like a jet,
his wings valiantly spread.

A soft little breeze
brushes my cheek.
I see pretty flower petals sway
as I take a peek.

I see two worlds,
Mother Nature, and man.
I look at the beauty
as I contentedly stand.

I bow my head
and close my eyes.
I feel so grateful
to be alive!
