I remember that old sofa
in the house where we lived.
The fun we use to have,
growing up as kids.
It was our trampoline
when Momma left the room.
It was the funnest thing
when she didn't come back too soon.
It held us when we giggled
as we sat and watched tv,
or as we sat in silence
during some spine tingling mystery.
It often was a sick bed
while in the midst of colds or flu,
or for stretching out upon
when there wasn't much to do.
I remember that old sofa
in the house where we lived.
The fun we use to have,
growing up as kids!
