The Very Happy Times
I loved to go to Grandmas house,
what a woman she was.
I went there Fridays after school,
my day was just abuzz.
I threw my clothes in a bag
and carried them to school.
The day seemed long and endless
learning those golden rules.
Then when class was over
come rain, or shine, or snow,
off to Grandmas I'd scurry
telling her everything I know.
She let me bake in the kitchen.
It always was so fun.
I got to really be myself
till all my work was done.
If I was sick she cared for me,
she'd doctor me right up.
I miss her to this very day,
I even got orange juice in a cup.
She made me feel so special
just every time I went.
She was a gift from Heaven.
Her love was specially sent.
When I think of Grandma
I feel all warm inside.
It takes me back to yesterday,
the very happy times!
