To Another Man She Belongs

A golden chain, a handkerchief.

Some ribbons and some lace.

Laying on the dresser top,

a look of shock upon his face.

A note was there

in the midst of things.

Simply put,

telling him goodbye.

I cannot live

with you anymore.

Another man I met

wants me by his side.

He walks on in life,

her memory burning strong.

Her wedding band in his pocket,

to another man she belongs!
