Just To Ease My Mind

I'm going down to the ocean

Just to ease my mind

It's a beautiful place

A special friend I find

When my heart needs easing

It's the place I go

I sit on the shore

And search my soul

Sometimes I wonder

Of certain things I've said

Were they right or wrong

did I hurt my friend

Did I hurt the one

That I love the most

As I know I'm not perfect

Not even close

I look up to the sky

Thanking God for this paradise

I ask him too

For his advice

Sitting calmly in the warming sun

In moments of wonderment

I finally come to terms

With my lament

It is then I really know

I need to go home and excuse myself

And take my loved ones pain

And place it on the shelf

Then give them some hugs

And kisses too

And tell them I'm sorry

For all I've put them through
